Mary creates unique sculptural pieces reflecting the animals and avian that she illustrates in her two dimensional tiles.
In addition to receiving a BFA in Art History and Archaeology at the University of Guelph, Mary is a graduate of the Ceramics and Design program at the School of Craft and Design at Sheridan College. She has also studied Anthropology and Archaeology at McMaster University, and Ceramics Intensives at Alfred University in New York.
She is the recipient of awards from the Ontario Craft Council (the Helen Copeland Award for an established artist working in her field – 2015) and the Toronto Outdoor art Exhibition (2017).
Mary works as a full time Studio Ceramic Artist, designing tiles for custom work, producing a line of limited production, hand pressed tiles in porcelain, with intricate surfaces.
